Chocolate Black Bean Brownie Bites

Chocolate black bean brownie bites

You can quickly become the most popular guest at your next event.

These healthy brownie bites are a great alternative to traditional flour and sugar brownies. You will never be able to guess what the secret ingredient is.

Brownie bites which do not taste healthy

My blog has some delicious healthy desserts.

No one would mistake my Banana Ice Cream for Ben & Jerry’s half-baked ice cream or declare Chia Pudding the decadent dessert they have ever tasted.

These black bean brownie bites are as rich, fudgy, and moist as homemade brownies. They’re also as chocolatey.

These brownie bites can easily compete with those famous Little Bites Fudge Brownies by Entenmann’s or the store-bought brownies from Costco or Target.

This healthier version is even moister, more prosperous, more chocolatey, and decadent. The black beans used in this recipe make the brownies moist, soft, and not crumble.

My black bean brownies and Healthy Chocolate Brownies inspired this recipe. These two bean desserts are hugely popular, even among people who don’t care about veganism or healthy eating.

Do not be afraid to use these at your next event. You may be surprised by the positive response they receive!

Black bean brownie bite flavors

This dessert is very versatile. You can add anything to brownies, whether homemade or from a box.

Add a handful of chopped pecans, walnuts, or coconut flakes. Add a pinch or two of cinnamon powder or a few drops of pure peppermint oil.

You can also sprinkle a half-teaspoon of instant coffee into the batter before baking. I use the brand of instant espresso.

I like to use peanut butter and add some chopped nuts or a Vegan Peanut Butter Cup on top of each bite. This turns them into chocolate peanut butter brownie bites.

If you are feeling lazy, eat it with a spoon. I have never done this.

Healthy brownie bite ingredients

You’ll need the following: cocoa powder or rolled oats, almond flour, black bean, liquid sweetener, a bit of salt, oil, almond butter, vanilla extract, baking soda, and mini-chocolate chips.

I understand that some people are skeptical about using beans in desserts. Did you know that Entenmann’s brownies bites also contain beans??

They do have locust bean and soybean gum. Other ingredients include sugar, eggs, and bleached wheat, corn syrup.

The fudgy brownie bites are made with just nine ingredients and do not contain any artificial flavors, gums, or corn syrup.

They are so delicious and intensely fudgy that nobody even notices the other ingredients!

Substitutions

Over the years, I’ve been asked by many people if they could substitute another type of beans or lentils for black beans.

Many readers have told me they have successfully substituted kidney, white, or adzuki beans for the adzuki.

Steel-cut oats are not recommended for this recipe. Substitute a third cup with white, spelled, or oats flour.

Make a healthy dessert

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a muffin pan.

You can use a regular muffin pan if you do not have a mini-muffin pan. Use an 8-inch pan and cut it into large or mini squares.

All ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, should be processed in a food processor of high quality until they are thick and smooth.

Add the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the muffin tin and, if desired, add a few more chocolate chips.

Bake in the center of the oven for 10 minutes. Let the pan cool down for another 10 minutes after removing it from the oven. Then, use a knife to cut around each brownie bite and place them on a plate.

These healthy brownie bites can be stored the same as classic brownies. Please place them in a container with a small opening to allow excess moisture to escape. You can leave them on the counter for up to a day.

For freshness, I suggest placing the brownies in an airtight container with a lid and refrigerating after a day. The brownies will last for four to five days.

The leftover brownie bites can be frozen in an airtight container for up to 3 or 4 months. Thaw brownie bites before serving.

Black beans can be cooked or canned.

1/4 teaspoon salt

Pure maple syrup, honey, or agave nectar.

1/4 cup almond or peanut butter or oil

2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Baking powder, 1/2 tsp

Use up to 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips as a garnish

Instructions

Grease mini muffin pan. You can also use a regular muffin pan or smooth out the batter in an 8×8 pan. All ingredients, except the chips, should be processed in a food processor of high quality until they are smooth. Add the chips. You can omit the chips, but I cannot guarantee they taste good. Pour into the pan and press more chips on top if you wish. Bake for 10 minutes in the middle rack. Let the chips cool for at least 10 minutes, then use a knife to go around the edges and pop them out.
